Joel Pelletier is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, as well as composer-arranger, living in Los Angeles, CA. As a bassist, his primary instrument is a Steinberger L2 4-string, one of the first 1000 produced. His other basses include a Fender Jazz 4-string, a Steinberger 5-string and a Steinberger 4-string fretless.

Joel designed and built his primary electric upright, a custom four-string. He helped an Arizona-based instrument company, QUINTUS, develop a graphite and epoxy-composite acoustic double bass. His other "bass" is a Chapman Stick.

He also plays acoustic and electric guitars, and has a degree in classical composition from HARTT SCHOOL OF MUSIC, where his primary instrument was classical piano. He has also played violin since age 10, but tries not to inflict it on anyone.

Currently, Joel is endorsed or in artist's programs with HARTKE SYSTEMS, STEINBERGER SOUND, EAW, QUINTUS COMPOSITE INSTRUMENTS, THOMASTIC STRINGS, HIGHLANDER and EMG PICKUPS and LaBELLA STRINGS. He performs regularly in the Los Angeles area at different venues, from small acoustic coffeehouses to full electric pop/rock clubs, festivals and concert stages.

Joel is available for recording sessions as a bassist/stick player/vocalist/arranger for demo, album and film/television recording; for national/international touring as a bassist/vocalist/music director; and for film, TV and music video sideline musician as a multi-instrumentalist/vocalist, appearing in films and TV shows including Star Trek Voyager, Jim Carey's "The Man In The Moon", Family Matters, Celine Dion Special (CBS), INK, Fame LA, Murphy Brown and Columbo. Please feel free to e-mail him for more info, demo tapes/videos and availability.

Joel also has a musicLA page as a solo artist/producer/arranger featuring his own music, "Chamber Pop."
